Prickly pear fruits are known in many regions by several different names, such as Indian figs and Moroccan figs, while they are known to the people of the Levant as cactus or cactus. This type of fig was included in a treatment recipe by the giant of Arab Islamic medicine, Abu Bakr al-Razi, when he said: What helps in the appearance of smallpox is drinking a drink made of five yellow figs (prickly) with 7 dirhams of peeled lentils + 3 dirhams of frankincense + 3 dirhams of tragacanth + 5 dirhams of fennel seeds, and boil them all with a pound and a half of water.
