Peaches rich in vitamins A and C for skin health and immunity

Archaeologists have found quantities of peach fruits and pits in many tombs in Hawara, Kom Oshim and Saqqara. Ancient papyri confirm that the pharaohs knew the importance of these fruits as fruits and medicines, while the great ancient Arab doctors spoke at length about the health and therapeutic benefits of peach fruits.

Abu Bakr al-Razi said:
(If the stomach is severely inflamed, eat peaches.)

Ibn Sina said:
If you drink its juice and fresh leaves, it softens the stomach. The water from its leaves is dripped into the ear. The navel is bandaged with its leaves, which kills stomach worms. Some of them said that it increases sexual potency and strength. Its oil is beneficial for migraines (headaches) and earaches.

King Al-Muzaffar said:
(Good for hot stomach and burning thirst.. laxative, increases libido and is beneficial for burning fevers.)

Ibn al-Baytar said:
(Peach kernel oil is the most powerful ointment for the ear and deafness.)

Ibn al-Nafis said:
(Laxative, astringent, its water and the water of its leaves kill worms from the stomach and ears, as a poultice or drink, beneficial for bile).

Nutritional benefits

The fruits are red, white and yellow in colour. They are fleshy, delicious in taste, slightly sour, and contain a relatively large kernel, weighing about 18% of their weight. Inside it is an almond rich in oil and cyanidic acid. The medium-sized fruit contains about 82% of its weight in water, 0.5% protein, 0.1% fat, 18% sugars, 0.8% starches, 6% fiber, and vitamins A (880 IU), vitamin B (thiamine) 0.02 mg, vitamin B (riboflavin) 0.05 mg, vitamin B (niacin) 0.9 mg, and a high percentage of vitamin A ranging between 10-50 mg, depending on the type of fruit, in addition to huge amounts of mineral and organic salts, most notably 25 mg potassium, 22 mg phosphorus, 14 mg calcium, 9 mg copper, 6 mg sulfur, 2 mg sodium, and 0.4 mg iron. With adequate amounts of magnesium and manganese, peaches are a good food for the body, a blood purifier and an anti-fatigue.

Therapeutic properties

Because peaches contain high and varied amounts of minerals and acids, they are considered a diuretic, and an antidote to food poisoning, arteriosclerosis, and liver congestion, in addition to being a mild laxative for the stomach and intestines. Experiments have also proven that peach blossom juice is a mild laxative for the stomach in children, while a decoction of the leaves is considered a good resistance to cases of diarrhea and vomiting, and an anti-intestinal worm.

It is prescribed to treat the following conditions:

Anemia, fatigue, rheumatism, dysuria, arteriosclerosis, hepatitis, gout, constipation.

Internal uses
For all the previous cases, peaches can be eaten fresh or as a compote, while a decoction of the leaves can be used as a drink on an empty stomach at a rate of one cup per day for three days to combat diarrhea and expel intestinal worms.

External uses
- To remove skin impurities... use the mashed fresh fruit as a mask over all parts of the face and neck. Remove the mask with lukewarm water after about 25 minutes.

To maintain the freshness and vitality of the skin... use equal amounts of peach and apricot seed powder with honey to make a homogeneous paste that is spread over the skin in the form of a mask and removed after half an hour with lukewarm water.
